About the Squadron Sponsoring Committee
Volunteers from the local community who keep the squadron running off-parade.
The Squadron Sponsoring Committee (SSC) is a registered non-profit made up of parents and community volunteers. The SSC is the local partner of the Air Cadet League of Canada and provides the funding, facilities, and logistical support that the Department of National Defence does not.
What the SSC does
- Fundraising for optional activities, clubs, and trips
- Maintaining squadron equipment and supplies
- Administering the squadron’s bank account and accounting
- Coordinating transportation for training events
- Liaising with the school, the city, and the community
How parents can help
Every parent is welcome — and encouraged — to volunteer with the SSC. Whether you can give an hour a month or take on a portfolio, there is a place for you. Reach out at any Wednesday training night.
